Jennifer dedicated her miles during the 2013 Run for Your Heart races to her father, Milan, who passed away when she was only 11 years old.
Jennifer invited her mother, Sue, to come and cheer her on. But, like any parent, Sue was concerned that Jennifer was pushing herself too hard by racing. Jennifer remembers it was only after seeing her bib with Milan’s picture on it that her mom started to understand what she was trying to accomplish. “Running is about my dedication to my dad and to staying healthy.”
Cheering Jennifer on during the race even provided a trip down memory lane for Sue when she walked past the post office where she and Milan both worked and first met.
“Heart disease changed my life forever by taking my father at the young age of 47. I will always remember and never forget. I feel I am a stronger more determined person because of it. My dad is forever in my heart.”
